If you're wondering how TF to keep moving through life when *gestures wildly at everything* is going on, this free event is for you.

Thursday, March 19
5:30-6:30pm CT
on Zoom (replay available)

During this one-hour workshop, we'll...

  • Explore why “self-care” feels insufficient right now, and how the foundations of Western psychology/therapy are inherently individualistic

  • Engage in somatic practices and optional sharing to feel more grounded and less alone in our grief, rage, fear, and overwhelm 🫂

  • Experience what it means to turn toward our suffering for the world (NOT what capitalism wants us to do) without drowning in it

  • Experiment with a model of care that integrates self, community, and Earth 💞🌎

  • Get curious about what sustainable activism AND sustainable ambition look like (so you can stop setting yourself up to "fail" 😵‍💫)

  • Celebrate the Spring Equinox / Ostara as a threshhold for renewal and awakening 🌷

  • Introduce a practice ground for living in a way that honors self-care, community, AND activism ✊🏾🏳️‍🌈✊🏼🏳️‍⚧️✊🏿

A recording will be available if you RSVP— and if you can join live, you'll have an opportunity to win prizes that align with our mission of individual<>collective care  💝 👀

Hey, I'm Valerie— and I’m the founder of The Gaia Center for Embodied Healing in Nashville (a psychotherapy practice). I’ve always been a personal development junkie, and ever since I stepped into my first Social Justice class in my MSW back in 2010, I’ve had a passion for figuring out how to bridge individual and collective healing. Frankly, I can’t stand personal growth content that seems oblivious to the immense suffering in the world— at best, the “manifesting love, light, and abundance for all!” ethos is really no different from the philosophy of trickle down economics (AKA doesn’t work) or ✨thoughts and prayers.✨ At worst, there’s a disturbing appeal to wealth and opulence that makes me feel ill when I consider the conditions most of humanity lives in.

Well damn, I guess I could have just said “hey I’m Val, the resident buzzkill!” 😝 Okay really though — my POINT is that I think there’s a way to do it differently, and I don’t see a whole lot of online personal growth spaces doing it. I’m not here to judge people who are going after financial success— I just think there are already plenty of spaces dedicated to that work, and very few that are exploring how we can integrate our personal healing and growth with collective healing and growth.

That's what we are about at The Gaia Center, and that's what you can expect from this workshop and anything we create.

Join live for a chance to win community-driven prizes 👀 — or watch on replay at your convenience!
